These earrings feature beautiful red spiny oyster dangles. The stones have the striations and variations in color that characterize spiny oyster. These earrings are a classic design that are simply framed in silver. Signed on the back Gabby (Alice Gabby, Navajo) and sterling.
Spiny oyster comes in many shades, but most common are the oranges, reds, and purples. I've been told that the difference in colors is due to diet and I've also been told it's due to the depth where the oyster lived. I'm no expert on oysters, but I do know the color is all natural and not enhanced... and this red is particularly beautiful!

Protect your jewelry from harsh chemicals and solvents as they can damage turquoise and other stones. I recommend using a Sunshine Cloth or similar to polish your silver. Do not immerse or subject your jewelry to running water as it can dislodge the stone from the setting.
